Borrow e-books and e-audiobooks

Libraries E-Media

Your Kingston library card gives you access to collections of e-magazines, e-books and e-audiobooks

Any member of our libraries can access e-books (read online or download) and download e-audio books for free from our online library 24 hours a day seven days a week.

You will need:

  • a home computer or other device with internet access
  • your library membership card

You can check out from multiple collections though some are limited to three e-books or e-audio books.

E-books and e-audio books can be renewed otherwise they expire, there are no overdue fees associated with e-media..

The Collections

E-books

We offer e-books and e-audio through BorrowBox

You can choose from more than 1000 titles. To borrow an e-book through BorrowBox, you can browse without signing in, but will need your library card to check items out. The BorrowBox app is also available for Android and Apple devices.

We offer e-books and e-audio through Overdrive

You can browse titles from the library catalogue or visit the site direct choose from 1000s of titles. To borrow an e-book through Overdrive, you can browse without signing in, but will need your library card to check items out. The Overdrive app Libby is also available for Android and Apple devices.

We offer an older collection of e-books through EBSCOhost

You can choose from hundreds of titles. To access these e-books, you'll need to set up an EBSCO account in the library first then log in to your EBSCOhost account from the online catalogue or this page.

E-audio books

We offer e-audio books through rbdigital

You can browse hundreds of titles on the new shared London Libraries Consortium platform. To download e-audio books, you'll need to sign up with rbDigital and when prompted enter your library membership number. There is also an app that allows you to do this on your phone which accesses a shared platform also containing Comics plus and our E magazines from Zinio.

We offer e-audio books through Borrowbox

You can browse hundreds of titles on the either the shared London Libraries Consortium platform or Kingston platform. To download e-audio books, you'll need to sign up with Borrowbox and when prompted enter your library membership number. There is also an app that allows you to do this on your phone or device.

We offer e-audio books through Ulverscroft

You can browse titles on the ULibrary shared London Libraries Consortium platform. To download e-audio books, you'll need to sign up with Ulverscroft and when prompted enter your library membership number. 

 

Technical Information

There are apps associated with each of the E-providers
You may need to install software on your device to download some content but you will be prompted.
Not all devices are supplier compatible. If you are downloading to a Kindle or another screen reader, follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
