Our events calendar includes all the events held at Old Malden library. This includes:

  • regular events, like rhymetime and our adult reading group
  • one-off events, like workshops and activities courses

Regular events

We hold some events, like rhymetime, every week. We'd love to see you at any of our regular events:

Events for children

Chatterbooks – children's reading group

  • for children aged 7 to 11 who want to talk about what they've been reading, listen to what others think about the books they've been reading and do book-related puzzles and activities
  • second Thursday of each month from 4pm to 5pm

Baby and toddler rhymetime

  • rhymes, music, songs and stories for under 5's
  • every Tuesday from 10.30am to 11am
  • free

Storytime for under fives

  • a selection of stories followed by basic crafts for under fives
  • every Tuesday from 2.20.pm to 3 pm
  • older children welcome during the school holidays
  • free but enrolment required which can be done on the day

Saturday rhymetime

  • monthly, on the fourth Saturday of the month 10.30am to 11am
  • rhymes and singing for under fives, older siblings welcome too
  • dads and working parents particularly welcome

Book Bugs

  • After school story time for four to seven year olds
  • 3.45pm to 4.30pm every first Friday of the month
  • No need to book, just turn up

Events for adults

Old Malden ward councillors' surgery

  • local residents can talk about any concerns or issues
  • first Saturday of the month 10am to 12 noon – no appointment needed

Adult reading group

  • Normally the 4th Monday of the month from 2pm to 3pm
  • contact us for more information

Knit and Natter

  • every other Friday from 11am to 12.30pm
  • an informal group meeting to knit, sew, crochet and chat 
  • £1.50 pay on the day which covers tea/coffee and biscuits
  • contact the library for details

Community Police Drop-In

  • local residents can talk about any concerns or issues
  • Saturdays, but not every weekend. Please ask in branch.
