Events calendar for all events

Our events calendar includes all events held at the library. This includes:

  • regular events, like rhymetime and our adult reading group
  • one-off events, like workshops and activities courses

Regular events

We hold some events, like rhymetime, every week. We'd love to see you at any of our regular events:

Events for children

Baby and toddler rhymetimes

  • every Monday (excluding bank holidays) from 10am to 10.30am
  • 11am to 11.30am. 
  • both sessions are free

Family chatterbooks

  • first Saturday of the month a reading club for children aged seven to nine with their parent or carer
  • every Monday 10 am to 11 am
  • contact the library to be placed on the waiting list

Events for adults

Silver surfers

  • fortnightly on a Wednesday 10am to 12 noon
  • help for over 50s wanting to gain more confidence using computers, tablets, mobile phones and other technology
  • cost £3 (booking essential)
  • as the library is closed on a Wednesday, access is via the side door entrance. Press the ground floor buzzer to gain entry

Job club

  • fortnightly on a Wednesday 10.30am to 12 noon
  • IT support for job seekers. Help with CVs, job applications, Universal Job Match and basic IT skills
  • free (drop-in session)
  • as the library is closed on a Wednesday, access is via the side door entrance. Press the ground floor buzzer to gain entry

Adult reading group

  • last Thursday of every month from 6pm to 7pm
  • email [email protected] to be placed on a waiting list for the group 

Writers group

  • last Thursday of every month from 4pm to 5pm
  • share your work in a friendly environment
  • this is a self run group feel free to turn up
