Kingston Youth Music Board

About Kingston Youth Music Board

About KYMB

Music is a big part of everyday life for the young people of Kingston, and in a recent consultation, many expressed an interest in going to local events and activities with their friends. Kingston Music Service listened and we created a Youth Music Board, led by young people to help shape Kingston’s musical offer.

We meet regularly to discuss what’s going on and events we can organise.

Since forming in September 2019, the Kingston Youth Music Board has

  • Helped organise the very first Youth Takeover Event in November 2019 with live performances and workshops

  • Created a presence on social media with over 250 followers

  • Been awarded over funding to run youth music events around Kingston

  • Made links with other youth music boards around the country
