Olympic Games in Kingston (Go Kingston)

A summer to remember

As a host borough for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, I am sure you will join us in looking back over the summer of 2012 with pride.

Working with key partners, local organisations and the local community we put together a 14-week festival of cultural, sporting and community events - the Go Kingston Cultural Programme. The programme brought people together across the borough to celebrate and get involved in the Olympic and Paralympics Games.

Highlights of the Go Kingston Cultural Programme were the Olympic events that came through Kingston. These included the Olympic Torch Relay, the Men's and Women's Cycling Road Race and the Cycling Time Trial.

Thousands of us lined the streets to show our support for these events. Who would have missed the moment Bradley Wiggins sped through Kingston on his way to a gold medal victory?

A summer to remember

Our colleagues at Kingston University have put together a video so we can all share these fond memories and celebrate a summer to remember:
