Warm homes social housing fund project

Find out more information about the Warm Homes Social Housing Fund grant.

The Warm Homes Social Housing Fund is a grant for local authorities to improve the energy performance of social homes. The project will be supported by council and government funds to improve the energy efficiency of homes (subject to assessment).

For this wave, the residents at the properties initially identified for the programme have been contacted to arrange a detailed home survey. This survey will assess the eligibility of the property. Works could include installation of cavity wall insulation (CWI), external wall insulation (EWI), solar panels or air source heat pumps.

The project will look at improving the energy efficiency of 135 homes across the borough during the next 12 months. This will reduce the energy demand of the building and help reduce energy bills to ensure our residents are living in comfortable homes.

Works will be supported and managed by our repairs contractor Cardo, from start to finish. If you are contacted/visited by Cardo then your cooperation will be greatly appreciated in letting them into your home to carry out their survey.

This programme builds on the success of improving the energy efficiency of 66 properties under the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund. This work is due to be completed in October 2025.
