Anniversary Eve Concert

Our sensational Kingston Sinfonia will be joined by Piccola Banda, a phenomenal wind quintet from our twin city of Oldenburg, Germany. These excellent young musicians will delight with classical music including Mozart, Gershwin and Bernstein.

The concert running time is approximately 1hr 20 minutes, and is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy live music within the beautiful acoustics of the church. Open to all and recommended for all 7 and up.

The wind quintet Piccola Banda was founded in 2022 in Oldenburg and brings together four siblings - Melina (17), Flynn (15), Amàia (13) and Llúcia (11) -  and their close friend Josephine (16).

In 2023, Piccola Banda was awarded a First Prize at the national level of the prestigious competition Jugend musiziert followed by further honors such as a radio recording with NDR and the “Note um Note” sponsorship award from the Stiftung Jugend musiziert Niedersachsen, supported by the Sparda-Bank Hannover Foundation.

The Kingston Youth String Sinfonia deliver a rich and varied musical experience, with a focus on both full string orchestra repertoire and chamber music. The ensemble showcases the skill, sensitivity, and collaborative spirit of its young musicians, and its leader Joshua von Bohlen, all are advanced players from across the Royal Borough of Kingston, brought together by Kingston Music Service.
