Service closures and disruptions
This page outlines current changes to council services and closures to council buildings during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Council buildings
Guildhall 1 and 2 are currently closed to visitors to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Job Centre Plus
Clients can now access JCP services at Guildhall 2. A security guard will be on hand in reception to direct any JCP visitors.
Please note that JCP is open to the public from 10am until 2pm, Monday to Saturday.

Leisure centres and heritage
- Tolworth Recreation Centre, the Malden Centre and Weir Archer Athletics and Fitness Centre are closed until further notice. The athletics track will remain open for pre-arranged and agreed use by the athletics clubs who are providing sessions for U18s and disabled athletes.
- Kingston Adult Education classes restart on Monday 11 January 2021. Learners can apply for courses here.
The following leisure centres and heritage sites remain closed until further notice:
- Kingfisher Leisure Centre
- Kingston Museum and Heritage Centre
Libraries
All our libraries are currently closed, with the exception of Surbiton, who are running a Ready Reads service from 10am until 2pm on Tuesdays and Fridays for collection.

Green spaces, playgrounds and public toilets
Parks, children's playgrounds and public toilets are open. The use of outdoor gyms and outdoor sports pitches is not permitted.

Kingston Market Place Fountain
Due to the current situation and subsequent lockdown, the council has decommissioned the interactive water feature (fountain) in Kingston Market place.
Tadlow Housing Office
Tadlow Hub will be closed until further notice. If you would like to discuss the Cambridge Road regeneration programme, we’re only a call or email away - please get in touch if you have any questions. Council services
Bereavement services
Losing a loved one is always distressing and the pandemic has brought new challenges and difficulties for those left behind. For help with registering a death, planning a funeral or accessing bereavement support, please see our bereavement page.
Children's centres and youth centres
No open public sessions are currently being held at our children's centres or youth centres until further notice. If you require any support, please go to the Achieving for Children website.
Council repairs service
We regret that we will only be able to book urgent repair jobs for the foreseeable future. This will be for any issues that have caused total loss of heating or hot water, imminent danger to life or similarly urgent problems. If you have a non-urgent repair request, please do not report this until the Council has announced that services has returned to normal. More information on changes to council repairs.
Domestic violence support hub
The Kingston One Stop Shop and face to face meetings are closed until further notice. Support is still available by contacting the Kingston Domestic Violence Hub on 0208 547 6046 (Monday - Friday 9am-5:30pm). More information on our domestic abuse support pages.

Local Land Charge search applications and Personal Searches
This service re-opened on 26 May, but is operating with reduced resources. You can find more information on our Local Land Charges page.
Sexual health services
Sexual health servoces have been affected by COVID-19 and many have changed their opening hours. Please check on the relevant local service webpages for details and call the service before visiting. For information on key services see our sexual health pages.
Waste and recycling services
Villiers Road Household Reuse and Recycling Centre is open. Anyone needing to visit must book an appointment to aid social distancing and keep our community safe. Visit our waste and recycling page for more information.
