Community Parks Programme

As part of our ongoing work to improve and enhance our green spaces, we are investing £1.3 million in our borough's parks.

The project will be used to improve accessibility in our parks and playgrounds, with the introduction of new entrance points, paths, playground and gym equipment.

Latest news

We have completed our consultation on the design proposals for three more playgrounds in the borough and thanks to your great input we have adapted our plans and the final designs are now available:

Churchfields Recreation GroundKing Edwards Recreation Ground and Knollmead.

To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, children’s playgrounds across the borough have been closed since 23 March 2020 and will continue to remain closed until Government guidelines on social distancing are lifted.

For the below works, our contractors have installed safety measures to protect their workforce and revised their health and safety processes in line with the latest COVID-19 Government and Public Health England guidance.

COVID-19 is a rapidly evolving situation, and once works are complete the below playgrounds may have to remain closed due to continuing restrictions. We appreciate that this may be frustrating, but the safety of our residents must remain our top priority and the new playgrounds will be ready for everyone to enjoy as soon as it’s deemed safe to do so.
