How this tool can help you
Our estimators can help you understand how much you'll need to contribute towards the cost of council care and support services. This includes:
- long-term care in a care or nursing home
- care at home or in the community
Answer a few questions about your finances to get an estimate of your contribution. This can help you understand and plan for likely costs before your full financial assessment. Find out more about financial assessments for care costs
Who should get an estimate
Our estimators are most useful for people who:
- are eligible for care and support that we arrange
- have less than £23,250 in savings and investments
If you have more than £23,250 in savings and investments, you’ll need to pay the full cost of care and support. Find out more about paying for your own care (self-funding)

When using an estimator, remember:

- the results you get are only an estimate, and your actual costs may be different
The more detailed and accurate information you provide, the more accurate your results will be.
