About biodiversity in Kingston
We aim to be a leading borough in promoting biodiversity, creating an environment where both humans and wildlife can thrive together.

Our Biodiversity Action Plan
Our Biodiversity Action Plan benefits the community by protecting and enhancing our local habitats and the species they contain, and improving the natural environment.

Local nature reserves
We are lucky to have 12 nature reserves in the borough that are owned by the council, including Tolworth Court Farm Fields, Hogsmill Valley River Park and The Wood and Richard Jefferies Bird Sanctuary.

How you can get involved
Find out how you can contribute to the upkeep or improvement of the local area by joining a local community group, or volunteering to help with the maintenance of trees or flower beds.

Promote biodiversity in your garden
Make your garden a friendly place for wildlife and to help to stop species like hedgehogs and beetles going extinct locally.
