Recycling and rubbish collections guide

Non-recyclable rubbish

If you live in a house, or flats converted from a house, your rubbish is collected every two weeks.

If you live in a purpose built block of flats, your rubbish is collected every week.

The corresponding bins are:

  • all black bins
  • red sacks

For residents living in a house, we only collect from one black wheelie bin per household and we only collect from bins provided by Kingston Council. By recycling fully, most households can fit all their rubbish into one black wheelie bin. You can use as many recycling containers as you need.  If you are recycling as much as possible but cannot fit your rubbish into one bin, please contact us. There are a few cases where extra space is needed and we will assess this on a case-by-case basis.

  • Non recyclable rubbish
  • Plastic, plastic wrap, plastic bags
  • Greasy cardboard
  • Plastic bag and film
  • Polystyrene
  • Nappies

Collection of bulky items

For bulky rubbish and items not accepted in your rubbish bin, please take these to the Household Reuse and Recycling Centre where you can recycle a wide range of items including garden waste, wood, textiles and larger electrical goods. We also offer a chargeable 'bulky waste' collection service from your property.
