Virgin Money Giving Mini London Marathon
Once we have more details we will set a new trial/registration period for all runners wanting to take part in the next race.
The Virgin Money Giving Mini London Marathon is the official British Athletics three mile road championship taking place over the final part of the full marathon course in advance of the main race. It's for young athletes aged between 11 and 17 and this year takes place on Sunday 4 October 2020.
Every year, 36 young runners are selected to represent Kingston in the Virgin Money Giving Mini London Marathon. If you are between 11 and 17 years old and were born, live or go to school in Kingston, you can apply to be one of the lucky runners.
All runners receive a Mini Marathon T Shirt which must be worn by all taking part in the race. Transport is provided from Kingston to London on the morning of the race (not return).
Apply to represent Kingston in the mini marathon
Before you apply, you have to complete a UK 5k parkrun.
There are four parkruns in or around the borough:
- Hawker Centre (tow path adjacent to)
- Bushy Park
- Old Deer Park
- Richmond Park
Parkrun events take place every Saturday at 9am. You may complete any parkrun event between (t.b.c) to qualify. For more information about how to register, see Parkrun.
After you've completed a parkrun, complete the Kingston Mini Marathon online application form before t.b.c. 2020 with details of your time and run completed. Late entries will not be accepted.
The Sports Development Team will select the six fastest male and six female athletes in each category to represent Kingston on Sunday 4 October 2020. We will contact qualifying athletes by e-mail during the week following the entry deadline.
