Claiming child benefit

Even though General Register Offices remain closed for now, parents of new-borns will still be able to claim child benefit. Parents can still claim without having to register their child's birth first to ensure that they do not miss out.

Council tax support

We want to do all that we can to support our residents who may be struggling to pay their bills at this time. 

If you're on a low income, you may qualify for our council tax reduction scheme by using our online benefits calculator and claim form. You can find more information on our Council Tax support page.

Crime and anti social behaviour

Fraud and scams

Funerals and bereavement

Losing a loved one is always distressing and the pandemic has borough new challenges and difficulties for those left behind. For help with registering a death, planning a funeral or accessing bereavement support please see our bereavement page.

MOT exemptions

Vehicle owners will be granted a 6-month exemption from MOT testing, enabling them to continue to travel to work where this absolutely cannot be done from home, or shop for necessities.

Waste and recycling

Villiers Road Household Reuse and Recycling Centre has now reopened for essential visits only. Anyone needing to visit must book an appointment to aid social distancing and keep our community safe. Visit our waste and recycling page for more information.
