Information points are now around the borough so you can contact the council whenever you are out and about.

The Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames more than doubled its network of public iPlus Information Points over the Summer – also adding a pioneering wireless service. Tens of thousands of people have access to a new iPlus Information Point every day as they move through Kingston.
There are now ten Information Points in public locations across the borough - providing a direct link to the council, free email, BBC news and sport, transport information and a job search facility.
Re-branded in a distinctive raspberry colour, the Information Points also offer access to community information, Childline, domestic violence & missing persons help-lines, rape counselling advice and a child-care finder.
Users can get council information directly from the iPlus Information Point, or phone the borough via a free ‘Voice over IP’ internet connection.
“Our new-look iPlus Information Points are an important part of the council’s programme to provide residents and businesses with 24-hour access to council information and services,” said Gerry Sevenoaks, Head of Strategic Services.
“Working with our strategic partners Cityspace, we’ve managed to provide free email, news, sport and games to make them more attractive to the public.”
Public reaction to the Information Points has been positive. In July alone over 9,000 people used iPlus Information Points in Kingston to access more than 28,000 service searches and send more than 8,000 emails.
A key feature of the iPlus Information Points is the powerful built-in computer and high-speed Internet connection, making it a wireless hotspot and enabling people within about 30 metres to link up with their wireless-enabled computer or PDA. The Information Points are all linked up by StreetNet to make Kingston one of Europe’s first urban wireless networks.
“We are pleased Kingston is leading the way. The borough already has one of the highest take ups of Internet users in London and a modern wireless network enables council staff, residents and businesses to be more efficient and productive when they are away from their homes and offices,”
Information Points have been described as a community’s digital signpost to refuge, support, counsellors and professional advisory services.
