Boccia - A definition

Boccia is a Paralympic Sport. Boccia consists of 6 red balls, 6 blue balls and 1 white jack. There are 2 teams each consisting of 3 players. Each player has 2 coloured balls each.

It is an attack and defend game, where each side (red and blue) attempts to score as many points as possible by placing their own coloured balls closest to the white jack ball.

Special Olympics Surrey - Boccia Club was established in April 2008. We started out with 6 members which has now doubled to well over 12. The club meets fortnightly on a Monday night and every session we concentrate on different skills and drills. The club has 2 teams signed up to the CP Sport Boccia League and we have been placed in the Greater London League 1. Our opponents are Special Olympics Hammersmith & Fulham and WAMDSAD.
