Magazine and newspaper review

Throughout January and February 2010, Kingston Library and Heritage service will be undertaking a review of the magazines and newspapers available in the libraries. This is to help us provide the titles our users want to read. As part of this, users will be asked to mark on a slip every time they read a particular newspaper or magazine.
However, we are also interested in discovering if there is a demand for newspapers and magazines that we do not currently hold. If you would like to suggest a particular newspaper or magazine title, you can fill in a suggestion sheet in your local library, or e-mail Alison.townsend@rbk.kingston.gov.uk

Kingston Children's Library

will be closed for refurbishment from Monday 22 February, re-opening on Tuesday 6 April. More details on the poster.

Minutes of hall users meetings for Surbiton, Tudor Drive and New Malden are available on the relevant library branch page.

The Guardian and The Observer Archive 1791-2003 is now available in the online library collection. This archive is currently only available in library branches, but we hope to make it available at home as well.

Ancestry UK is now available on all public access computers in all Kingston Library branches, and also at the Local History Room, North Kingston Centre. This essential resource can only be accessed from public access computers. It cannot be accessed from home computers using "My Account" due to licensing restrictions.

The BFI Screen Online Archive is now accessible from within all library branches. This archive is not accessible from home.

NewsUK now includes online access to a wide range of magazines. All newspapers and magazines are regularly updated. See the content list in NewsUK for details of titles.

Recycle your books, DVDs, CDs and pre-recorded videos at one of our book banks and support the British Heart Foundation

Surbiton, Kingston and Old Malden branches have book banks outside their buildings where you can deposit your unwanted books, DVDs, CDs or videos in whatever condition. At Surbiton Library and Kingston Library the book bank is located in the car park at the rear of the library. The British Heart Foundation collect from the banks once a week and will transform your donation into much needed funds for their charity.
