The Safeguarding Children Board in Kingston needs you!
Are you 18 or over and do you live in Kingston-Upon Thames?
Volunteer lay members are needed to join the Board and if you can answer YES to these questions, then we would like to hear from you.
Kingston Local Safeguarding Children Board (KLSCB) is a partnership of organisations that work with children and families in the borough, including Children’s Social Care, Adult Services, Schools, Police, Probation and Health agencies. It is made up of individuals whose job it is to keep Kingston’s children safe from harm and abuse and to promote their welfare. The Board has a duty to oversee all of these organisations and make sure they work well together to safeguard children, have good plans and processes in place, and look at where things can be improved further.
To build on the good work we are already doing, we are looking for two local residents to join the Board from March 2011 as independent members.
We are seeking individuals who are strongly committed to improving the lives of children in the borough and can share their enthusiasm and interest with others. You do not need to have formal qualifications but you must be confident when speaking in a group and willing to share your ideas with professionals. Ideally, you will have had some knowledge of and / or involvement in child safety issues and will help us to make better links with local community groups.
If you are interested in applying for this important and rewarding role, please contact Harminder Jagdev, LSCB Business Manager, for additional information and a paper copy of the application form (contact details below), or download and complete the application form below:
The closing date for applications is 31 January 2011.
