The 2007 Contemporary Art open took place on Saturday 30 June to Saturday 21 July 2007
Now in its fifth year, this popular open-submission exhibition provides professional and amateur contemporary artists and craftspeople with the opportunity to exhibit and sell their work in two of Kingston's most prestigious public art venues - Kingston Museum and Art Gallery and the Stanley Picker Gallery at Kingston University. Selected works where also be on show in John Lewis, Kingston upon Thames.
The individual showcase for an outstanding contributor to the 2006 Kingston Contemporary Open featured the work of Lizzie Brewer who showcased a substantial body of her work alongside the main exhibition at the Stanley Picker Gallery.
Caroline Todd was selected by the Kingston Contemporary Open judges as the recipient of the individual showcase award, sponsored by John Lewis Kingston. She is pictured here receiving her cheque for £500 by Cliff Vanstone from John Lewis Kingston and the curators of the Kingston Contemporary Open, David Falkner, Peta Cook and Rosemary Williams. David Falkner thanked John Lewis Kingston for their generous sponsorship of the ‘Spotlight’ artist award which provides a platform for the chosen artist to create an individual showcase of their work for the 2008 Kingston Contemporary Open.
