       Your name
       A contact number
The date and time of the event
A brief description of the type of event you are holding and the person who is organising it

Alternatively fill out our online form (see bottom of the page)
or send an e-mail to mayors.office@rbk.kingston.gov.uk
or fax details to us on 020 8547 5032

Please note

Notification is required at least 4 weeks in advance of the event.  This is to enable us to check the Mayor's availability for that date and make the necessary arrangements.

If the Mayor is available to attend, a letter will be sent out to you with a Function Information Sheet', please fill this out and return to the Mayor's Office at least 2 weeks in advance of the event.

If for any reason the Mayor is unable to attend due to illness or a clash of functions, the Deputy Mayor will be asked to attend.

Please bear in mind that the Mayor attends as the First Citizen of the Borough; not as a representative of the Council or any particular section of it.

The Deputy Mayor

In the absence of the Mayor, the Deputy Mayor is entitled to the Mayor's right of precedence within the Borough, although the Deputy does not have the right to wear the Mayor's Robe or Chain.

Invitations to a function should not be sent (or solicited) to a Deputy Mayor.  The Deputy Mayor should not normally attend functions in their own right but only when deputising for the Mayor.

All invitations should be sent for consideration to the Mayor and if the Mayor can not attend, it may be appropriate to "pass on" an invitation - but this should be by no means automatic or desirable.

On the rare occasion when the Deputy Mayor is invited to a function in their own right, the invitation will usually be shown to the Mayor, in order that there is no misunderstanding.
