An initial screening of policies, activities and services within the Environmental Services Directorate revealed that full equality impact assessments (EQIA) should be carried out on a small number, where it was assessed that the policy and/or service may disproportionately disadvantage black and minority ethnic groups, disabled people or women ( or men).
A full EQIA was therefore undertaken to ascertain the extent of this possible negative impact, to determine how to minimise that impact and increase any possible positive impact.
