An initial screening of policies, activities and services within the Environmental Services Directorate revealed that full equality impact assessments (EQIA) should be carried out on a small number, where it was assessed that the policy and/or service may disproportionately disadvantage one or more minority groups.
A full EQIA was undertaken on this small number of policies and services, to ascertain the extent of this possible negative impact, to determine how to minimise that impact and increase any possible positive impact.
