Enlargement of Southborough Conservation Area

We the undersigned request the Council to extend the Southborough Conservation Area, to include ALL properties on or leading from; Southborough Road, Southborough Close, Langley Avenue, Corkran Road, Woodlands Road, Ashcombe Avenue, Copse Glade, Sylvan Gardens and Hailsham Close. This would:- -simplify the boundaries for residents and planners, -bring about uniformity of planning procedures within Southborough, -allow better monitoring and protection of the Conservation Area, - enable the Conservation Area to enhance its visual amenity within the community and Royal Borough of Kingston.

The Surbiton Neighbourhood Committee on 12 November 2008 is considering the process for the review of this area. It is intended to involve a Stakeholder Group - representatiives of Residents Associations the Conservation area Committee and 2 Councillors in the proceess. the timetable is aimed at the Group having a draft report in December with a full resident consultation in January and a final report to the Neighbourhood by April.
The meeting on 12 November 2008 is open to the public and the papers will be available on the web site on Tuesday 4 November 2008
