Registering to Vote
We are currently undertaking the annual canvass of electors. All properties in the borough will shortly receive a register of electors form. To ensure you remain registered or to add names, delete names or make other alterations to the register please follow the instructions enclosed with your form. The revised register will be published on Wednesday 1 December 2010.
If you have not received a registration form by Monday 6 September, or if you require a further registration form, please contact Electoral Services.Under the system of rolling registration, eligible electors can register to vote throughout the year. Between September and the end of November Electoral Services carry out an annual canvass of all properties within the Borough. Each household will receive an annual registration form and must list the names of all eligible electors on this form. If there are no eligible electors in a household you should still return the form stating the reason why there are no eligible voters. A revised register is published on the 1st of December each year.
Between December and the following September we operate the system of rolling registration. On the first working day of each month Electoral Services publish an updated list to the current register. This means that if you change your address we can send you the necessary form to transfer your registration to your new address. Amendments can also be made if your change your name, become eligible to vote for the first time or if our existing records are incorrect.
