
Council Tax goes towards paying for Council services including education and social services. An additional charge is made by the Greater London Authority and this is collected by Kingston Borough Council in addition to the charge made for council services.
The Council receives money from the government and income from Business Rates. However this is not enough to cover the cost of Council services. The difference is made up by the Council Tax you pay.
