There are three core elements of service support:·

1. Professional support, information and advice to the business sector, sub-regional agencies and key borough stakeholders to secure regeneration and economic development within the borough;
2. Professional information, research and policy analysis for all directorates of the Council and for external organisations;
3. To develop international relationships and identify EU and other funding opportunities to support appropriate partnership projects.

Specific services delivered by the Council's Partnership and Regeneration Unit include:

• Business property information
• Identification and delivery of development opportunities
• Planning, development and regeneration advice
• Grants and funding information
• Publication of RBK Business Directory and Inward Investment brochure
• Gateway to other Council services relevant to businesses
• Referral service to other local business support agencies
• Working with partner organisations to develop business related initiatives in the Royal Borough
• Research and data analysis
• All aspects of 2001 Census dissemination and analysis
• Supporting the development of joint cultural, social and business projects with Stadt Oldenburg and other new partner cities/regions
• Providing EU funding information and support to other directorates in developing bids and projects.
