The Chief Executive's Department.
The Chief Executive's department forms the strategic centre of the council, providing a vital range of services which enables RBK to function effectively. Our services are dedicated to making the Council work better for the benefit of our residents, fulfilling our corporate commitment to:
"help create the best opportunities, services and environment for the people of the Borough of Kingston."
This corporate commitment is currently delivered through six strategic aims:
- Working in partnership - 'a strategic and campaigning council'
- Developing education and lifelong learning - 'Top-quality education'
- Caring for the environment - 'Putting the Environment at the heart of everything we do
- Enhancing quality of life - 'Improving the quality of life whether of not the council runs the service'
- Putting people first - 'We are proud of our diverse borough and value every resident'
- Delivering improvement - 'Quality services that provide the best value for money'
The key roles of the Chief Executive's department are to define and communicate the strategic aims, provide strategic services that help teams fulfil these aims and to foster a culture where we review our achievement and develop staff so that we can continuously improve our performance in responding to the needs of our community.
