The Council
Although the Executive takes a lot of the decisions in the running of the Borough, the Council sets the policy and budgetary framework within which the Executive operates.
The Council is responsible for the appointment of the Mayor;. the Executive Leader and members of the Executive and members of other bodies such as Overview and Scrutiny Panels and the Licensing and Development Control Committees.
Other roles of the Council are to adopt the Code of Conduct for Councillors; agree any changes to the Council's Constitution and agree the terms of reference for Committees and Panels.
Council Meetings are open to the public and the meetings are held at 7:30pm in Guildhall.
