The Scrutiny Panel is an Opposition-led body responsible for holding the Executive to account and, in effect, providing challenge to its decisions. The role of the Panel is to provide an appropriate level of challenge to the Executive in order to create better decisions and policies for the residents of Kingston.
The Scrutiny Panel can carry out pre-decision scrutiny of matters that the Executive is due to consider and can also “call-in” for review decisions that have been made by the Executive (including Neighbourhood Committees) but not yet implemented.
Further information on the call-in process is available via the link at the bottom of this page.
The Scrutiny Panel membership includes the Shadow Executive Members, Conservative Councillors who scrutinise the work of the individual Executive Members, and the Leader of the Labour Group.
