Executive

The Executive

The Executive comprises the Leader of the Council and six Executive Members, each responsible for a portfolio of services.

The Executive is responsible for preparing a policy programme, which is agreed by Full Council, and a Forward Plan listing key decisions it intends to take over the coming months.  Based upon this the Executive makes decisions after considering reports from Officers and views of Councillors, local residents and interested groups.

The Executive meets every three weeks and its meetings are open to the public.  The public have an opportunity to speak at the meeting.

Scrutiny of Decisions

Once the decisions of the Executive are published they are available for scrutiny. Details of how decisions can be called-in for further review  are set out on the scrutiny pages in this section.
