Maldens and Coombe Neighbourhood

Maldens and CoombeThis Neighbourhood is made up of five wards; Beverley, Coombe Hill, Coombe Vale, Old Malden and St James and constitutes about a third of the London Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames.

There are interesting historical facts about the Neighbourhood, click on the link to the left of this page to find out more.

The main district centre is New Malden which has a pleasant village atmosphere offering a range of excellent local shops.   Visit ‘shopping local’ for discount vouchers to spend on New Malden High Street and support local businesses:

New Malden also has the largest Korean population outside of Korea and there are a number of fine Korean restaurants in the area, along with a wealth of active community groups.

Kingston Hospital is located within the Neighbourhood and Kingston University has extensive facilities at its Kingston Hill site.

Railway stations at New Malden, Malden Manor, Norbiton and Worcester Park serve the Neighbourhood.

Neighbourhood Committee

The Neighbourhood Committee membership is made up of the Councillors from the five Wards, co-chaired by Councillor Ken Smith and Councillor James White.

The Committee makes decisions about where you live and are responsible for local issues such as traffic, parking, planning applications, parks and open spaces and local libraries.  The Neighbourhood system gives you the opportunity to have a say and influence decision making at a local level about the services that matter to you.

The Neighbourhood Committee has a small Discretionary Fund that is used to fund projects to improve the well-being of the Neighbourhood.

Your Neighbourhood Manager is Hannah Rees (hannah.rees@rbk.kingston.gov.uk) tel: 020 8547 5937

Neighbourhood Management support the Committee and provide the link role between them, other organisations such as Kingston PCT and Kingston Police, and local residents.  They bring together communities where everyone has the right to be heard and to influence so that the Neighbourhood is a safer, more prosperous and healthy community where people want to live, work or visit and to be proud of.

To report issues such as potholes, parking, a missed waste collection or for any other query, please contact the Customer First Contact Centre on
