Kingston Community and Police Partnership

Our job is to ensure all communities have input into the policing of the Borough and are actively working towards a safer Kingston.

The Kingston Community and Police Partnership (KCPP) consists of about 50 members representing those who live, work and study in the Borough of Kingston.  The Group meets five times a year to discuss issues relating to crime and policing matters and to ensure that Kingston Police Service are aware of local feelings relating to crime and disorder.

The KCPP has representatives from residents' associations, local branches of national charities, local charities, voluntary and minority groups, churches, councillors and the Kingston police service.

For 2007/08, the Chair is Sandra Flower from The Groves Resident's Assocation; the Vice Chair (Kingston) is John Azah from the Kingston Racial Equality Council; the Vice Chair (Special Projects) is Barbara Smith from Tolworth United Reform Chrurch, and the Vice Chair ( Londonwide issues) is Rashid Laher.

What we do

There are five public meetings per year when reports are presented by Kingston Police, British Transport Police and the Fire Brigade on recent happenings in the Borough.  Community representatives also give regular reports.

Londonwide links

The Metropolitan Police Authority (MPA) has responsibility for co-ordinating policing throughout the capital.  Kingston CPP are in regular contact with the MPA to ensure that local concerns are not forgotten.  The MPA link member regularly attends Consultative Group meetings.  The KCPP has been particularly active in lobbying for a change in the Resource Allocation Formula which is a method of allocating police officers to each borough.
