Kingston Council is continuing its drive to encourage people to walk more, by organising a Walk to Work Week between 7 - 11 August.
Regular brisk walking can reduce high blood pressure, help you to lose or manage your weight, reduce stress levels, aid sleeping patterns, tone muscles and strengthen bones.
The Kingston Council good going stand will be outside the Bentall Centre in Kingston between 12 and 2pm on Monday 7 August, providing information on the health benefits of walking, the Walking for Health Scheme and free advice from a Health Visitor.
Walking is a great way for busy people to integrate the exercise they need into their daily routine and is the only form of transport that is completely free!
The first 50 people that visit the stand will receive a free good going pedometer to monitor your steps to achieving the recommended 10,000 steps a day.
