A surcharge may be applicable for some Credit Cards, but not for Debit Cards. If this is the case, you will be shown the amount, and you will have the opportunity to pay by a different method. The surcharges are typically between 1 and 2.3%, depending on the card type.
The reason we apply a surcharge is to cover the cost of the commission charges that the Council has to pay to our credit card providers for payments made by credit card. Customers are not charged for making payment by debit card.
