for Queen Elizabeth II Fields Challenge
Nine outdoor recreational spaces within the Royal Borough of Kingston upon
Thames have been put forward for a public vote to become part of a prestigious
nationwide scheme to mark two 2012 landmark events.

Surbiton’s brand new school, Lime
Tree Primary School, will open in September 2012, initially offering 60 new
reception places, 26 part-time nursery places and support for up to three

Green Lane Primary School rated 'Good' by Ofsted
The Office for Standards in
Education, Children's Services and Skills (Ofsted) has given Green Lane Primary
School a 'Good' rating, an improvement over the previous inspection in
2009.

Delivery of your White Reusable bag
In the past few weeks the Council has received an unusually high number of requests for the
White Reusable bags used for the collection of household cardboard and card

Hogsmill Sewage Treatment Works
The Council is encouraging residents to report incidences of unreasonable odour
coming from the Hogsmill Sewage Treatment works, so that Thames Water can be
made aware of the extent of the odour problems at the Works. Online reporting

We demand lower council tax
Kingston Council have the highest council tax in London and one of the highest
in UK. Such rises have to be reversed and the borough needs to fall into line
with the average in London. Council must find expenditure cuts to deliver this
and sooner the better.

Kingston Camera Club Exhibition
Kingston Camera Club is holding its Annual Exhibition this year from Saturday 5 November
to Saturday 12 November 2011 at The Art Gallery, Kingston Museum, Wheatfield
Way, Kingston-on-Thames, KT1 2PS. Work done by club members will be on display
for two weeks, ranging from pictorial and landscape photography to natural
history and colour fantasy. Digital photography is becoming increasingly more
popular, and club members will be on hand to give tips on how you too can
become a better photographer.

Arcadia: Art exhibition
A free gala evening featuring the first
public display by new self-taught artist, Christina You, will be hosted at the
cornerHOUSE arts centre. The exhibition is in two parts: Arcadia (main hall) - an exhibition of oils and

Safer Neighbourhood
Police Briefings
All of the 16 borough wards in Kingston have a dedicated Safer Neighbourhood
Policing Team, made up of 3 police officers and 3 Community Support Officers
(PCSO's). They listen and talk to you, and find out what affects your daily
life and feelings of security. Their priorities are then set by the local
community and they work with you and other agencies to find a lasting solution.
Come and meet them at one of their briefing sessions and have your say about
local policing issues.
