Parking bays for Blue Badge holders

We recognise that disabled people who live, work or visit the borough may need to park close to their home or other location.

We provide special parking bays throughout the Borough particularly within the Town Centre and local shopping areas for the exclusive use of holders of the disabled persons permit (Blue Badge). Some disabled parking bays are time limited; please check the signs carefully when you park. If there are no times displayed the bay is in operation 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

For more information on where to park and parking rules for Blue Badge holders, please see:

Individual parking bays in residential areas

We will also consider applications for individual disabled parking bays in residential areas. There are very strict criteria which have to be observed before a bay can be provided. Individual disabled persons parking bays are not normally provided within a controlled parking zone as blue badge holders can park close to their home without charge in any permit bay (excluding Car Club bays) pay and display, meter or shared use bays.
