Jim Carrington is Writer in Residence at Kingston Libraries

Being asked to be the first Writer in Residence for Kingston Libraries, is an absolute honour. I can’t wait to get started.

For my part, I am hoping that as Kingston’s Writer in Residence I’ll be able to inspire more young people in Kingston to get out to their library and take advantage of the fantastic books and services that are available. Over the next twelve months I will get out and about to as many of Kingston’s libraries and Secondary schools as I can to talk about reading, writing and to talk about my books, Inside My Head and In The Bag.

I’m also really hoping to inspire young people to try their hand at writing some fiction. I’ll be visiting Secondary schools to do creative wring workshops, and also posting some exclusive short stories right here on this blog The first one is on the way soon!

Hope to see you all soon.

Jim

Jim has written two books and has been longlisted for the 2011 Carnegie Award with his latest book 'Inside My Head'.
