Tenants who wish to exchange their property with another tenant, either of another authority or of a housing association anywhere in the UK, can seek out another tenant who wishes to exchange. The exchanged properties must be suitable to the needs of both of the tenants before the exchange will be agreed.
Our Mutual Exchange Policy is intended to clarify the conditions that must be met before the Council will approve an application for an exchange and to give guidance to staff and tenants on the obligations and responsibilities on both parties.
