If you are thinking of carrying out research in social care or housing you may need to submit a Research Governance Framework Application Form.
If your research proposal is covered by the Research Governance Framework you will need to submit a Research Governance Framework Application Form to the South West London Research Governance Consortium via email. The documents can be found at the bottom of this page.
Your research application will need to go through a research approval process.
Once your Application has been received, the Research Governance Framework Coordinator or the South West London Research Governance Consortium will give you a decision as soon possible.
If your application is straightforward, you have addressed all the areas in your application and it does not involve issues of high risk to participants, your application should be processed quite quickly. If your application is more complex it may take a bit longer.
If your application is approved, you will be able to go ahead. Your research will be registered on the Council’s research database and the Social Care Institute for Excellence’s (SCIE) national database. It will also be monitored by a named contact from the Quality and Performance Team.
If you do not receive approval, you will be given reasons and information about how to appeal against the decision. Where possible, you will be given advice on how you might change your proposals to make sure it complies with the Councils’ requirements.
