The website contains information and contact details for drug and alcohol treatment and support services in the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames as well as links to national organisations.

About us

The Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames Strategic Partnership for Alcohol and Drugs (SPAD) is responsible for implementation of the Drug Strategy 2010 'Reducing Demand, Restricting Supply, Building Recovery: Supporting People to Live a Drug Free Life'.

The Strategic Partnership for Alcohol and Drugs consists of representatives from the following organisations:

  • The Royal Borough of Kingston Upon Thames Council
  • NHS Kingston
  • The Metropolitan Police Service
  • London Probation Service
  • JobCentre Plus

All partners work closely with GP's to contribute to the health, well being and safety of individuals, families and communities and is responsible for the commissioning and performance management of local drug services to meet local need.

The vision of the SPAD is to reduce drug and alcohol related harm to individuals, their families and the local community and aims to achieve this by:

  • Working with the local community to identify the key local issues relating to drug and alcohol misuse.
  • Conducting local needs assessments and developing local strategies and action plans
  • Commissioning drug and alcohol treatment and support services
  • Tackling issues around drug supply and to reduce drug and alcohol related crime, anti social behaviour and disorder.
  • Providing a range of interventions through schools and the Children and Young People’s Trust to support children and young people who may be affected by drug and/or alcohol misuse.

The partnership is committed to developing and enhancing the skills of those working or coming into contact with drug and alcohol users. Our courses are well developed and aim to suit a number of individual learning styles.
