Community Action Partnership
Residents of both the Cambridge Road Estate and Cambridge Gardens, The Royal Borough of Kingston, the Kingston Primary Care Trust, Police and voluntary organisations worked together between 2004 and 2007 in a Community Action Partnership (the CAP). The CAP aimed to ensure that existing and new services are designed to meet residents' needs working together with local organisations to improve the quality of life on the estates.
The CAP approach was not about people in the council or the NHS deciding what is best for residents. It was about residents and workers deciding what the problems are and then finding ways to solve them.
