Climate change and other environmental issues are caused by a combination of millions of decisions made by individual people, so action is required from all. It is important for everyone in the borough to take responsibility for themselves and reduce their impact on the environment. The purpose of the Climate Change & Sustainability Communication and Engagement Strategy is to develop a shared approach to communicating the desired behavioural changes that will protect and enhance the environment and quality of life in the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames.
The Strategy focuses on those activities/actions that have the greatest impact on the borough’s ecological footprint (a way of measuring the impact our lifestyle has on the environment). Based on feedback from the initial consultation, a set of behaviour goals have been put together and are now up for final consultation. Behaviour goals cover four themes:
