Our Building Control Services include:

• Comprehensive On-line information, including downloadable application forms and an on-line charges calculator.
   
• Specialist advice on the Building Regulations from Chartered Surveyors and Corporate Building Engineers with years of practical site experience. Our staff hold professional qualifications in Structural Engineering, Fire Engineering, Building Surveying in addition to Building Control.
   
• Unrivalled knowledge of local ground conditions.
   
• Archive library containing invaluable information concerning existing structures.  Access the Council's ISIS system for Planning and Building Control records dating back to the 19th Century. Further details may well be held in our office on microfiche or as scanned images.  Building Control scanned copies of Decision Notices and Completion Certificates issued since 2002 can be accessed from this system free of charge.
   
• Free pre-application advice.
   
• Fast turnaround of plans for projects submitted for Building Regulations consent. We aim to check all applications within 10 working days of receipt.
   
• Accessible staff with direct dial extensions and an automatic back-up referral system to the Building Control administration team where messages and requests may be left for subsequent prompt action. In addition all Surveyors have mobile phones, personal e-mail addresses and access to fax and group e-mail facilities. We are also available in the office before 10.30am weekdays for face-to-face meetings (or at other times by appointment).
   
• Same day site inspection service. We will inspect on-going work the same day when requested before 10.00am weekdays.

• On-Line tracking of applications and site inspection progress.  (Applicants and Agents are issued with a PIN to maintain confidentiality).
   
• Two hour time slots for inspections To minimise delays we are able to offer a choice  of inspection appointments of between 10.00am and 12.00pm, 11.00am and 1.00pm or 12.00noon and 2.00pm. Other times can often be accommodated by arrangement.
   
• Close liaison with other Local Authority departments such as Planning, Environmental Health and official agencies including Thames Water and the London Fire Brigade.  You may also like to visit the Planning Portal which is the UK Government's on-line planning and building regulations resource.
   
• Partnership Working. We are part of the national partnership scheme for Local Authority Building Control (LABC). This allows us to offer a plans approval service to you for developments that you intend to construct anywhere in England and Wales. You will achieve consistency of interpretation by forming a partnership with us that will be enhanced by the allocation of your business to one our specialist Surveyors. The local authority in whose area the work is situated will carry out the site inspections of the previously agreed details. • Warranties By working with Local Authority Building Control (LABC), together with their insurance partners, we are able to add value with the provision of a range of quality warranties.  Products include Latent Defects Insurance, Insurance of Brownfield or Contaminated Sites, cover for Domestic Extensions and Alterations, and a New Homes Warranty.
   
• Completion Certificates issued within 24 hours of satisfactory inspection and authorisation.
   
• Prompt response to reports of dangerous structures (24x7)
