Applying for a school place

All applications for a school place must be made via your Home Council, ie the Council area where you live and pay Council Tax.

If you are a Kingston Borough resident you will need to complete a Kingston application form.

If you are resident in another Council area and wish to apply for a school place in Kingston Borough, you will need to complete your Home Council's application form.

Transferring to Secondary School in September 2012

Children born between 1 September 2000 and 31 August 2001 are due to start secondary school in September 2012. The closing date for applications was 31 October 2011. If you have not yet submitted a secondary school application because you have missed the deadline or recently moved to the area, please contact School Admissions.

You can apply by completing a common application form. To request a form, please telephone School Admissions on 020 8547 4610.

Starting School (Reception class) and Transferring to Junior School in September 2012

Children born between 1 September 2007 and 31 August 2008 are due to start primary school (Reception class) in September 2012.

Children born between 1 September 2004 and 31 August 2005 who currently attend infant school are due to transfer to junior school in September 2012.

The closing date for applications was 15 January 2012. If you have not yet submitted a Reception class or Junior school application because you have missed the deadline or recently moved to the area, please contact School Admissions.

You can apply by completing a common application form. To request a form, please telephone School Admissions on 020 8547 4610.

In-Year Admissions (applying for a school place at other times)

If you are a Kingston Borough resident applying for a place in a year group other than Reception or Year 7 for September 2012, you should complete a Kingston In-Year Application Form to apply for any school. Please telephone School Admissions on 020 8547 4610 to ask for a copy, or you can download it using the links at the end of this page.

If you are a resident in another Council area, you should complete your Home Council's In-Year Application Form. You will be able to name a Kingston Borough school as one of your preferences and your Home Council will pass your child's details on to us.
