Kingston Junior Strings

The Kingston Junior Strings provides a first ensemble experience for violin, viola, cello and bass players in a relaxed, friendly environment.

The group is suitable for all young string players who have learnt to read music and are not yet of grade 2 standard.  Students are taught the basics of playing together and working with a conductor, while specialist string tutors provide tips and guidance on bowing, tuning and posture.

The Junior Strings also gives members their first taste of the recording studio and presents a short program of pieces at the end of each term.
