Come and join a free Skills for Life course and gain an adult qualification.

If you want to improve your spelling, reading, writing or maths, the Open Learning Centre could be for you. If you want to update your skills for work, get a job, or help your child with homework, we can help.
At our centres you can use books, tapes, CD ROMs, worksheets and computers. A tutor will be there to help at all times and an individual programme will be designed just for you. All courses are accredited, so you will receive a certificate on successful completion.
You will be able to take the national tests in Adult Literacy or Adult Numeracy. These tests are required by many employers and can help you to get on to college courses or provide evidence for your CV.
They are not like tests at school and you can take them when you feel ready. You can also prepare for GCSE English or Maths courses which will start in September 2012, by coming along to the centre now!
How long is the course?
You will learn at your own pace and achieve your qualification when you feel ready.
Who can come?
People from all walks of life and all ages are currently using our centre. Anyone who is over 16 and not in full time education is welcome.
When can I come?
Sessions are held in the morning, afternoon, evening and on Saturdays. A tutor will help you to choose the most suitable time to come.
