New Walk to School Campaign (WOW)

As a result of a recent School Travel Plan Network meeting, representatives decided to try an alternative to the existing Walking to School Campaign.

It has been agreed to take part in the London wide WOW (Walk Once a Week) campaign which encourages pupils to walk throughout the school term instead of just during one week of a term.

WOW is a fun effective scheme which ensures that walking to and from school is promoted on a regular basis throughout the year.

The new campaign will include score cards for pupils which will enable them to gain points towards collecting badges.

The idea is that children will be encouraged to walk either on a Wednesday or walk once a week hence the name of the campaign.

We hope that your local school will enjoy the new WOW campaign.

The Bus Saver Ticket is Changing

The bus saver tickets are changing so make sure to use up any old style bus saver tickets by the end of June 2007.

Tour de France Promotional Event

Tour de France will be taking place on 6/7/8 July.  To help promote cycling in the lead up to this the month of June has been dedicated as the month of cycling.

So keep a look out for our Cycling Treasure Hunts.  These will be available from the Green Fair, local libraries and can be downloaded from our website by the end of May 2007.

Walking Buses

Look out for two new walking buses during the Summer Term.  Fern Hill Primary are going to re-launch their walking bus with even more walkers and Park Hill School are going to launch a second walking bus starting in Richmond Park.
