Each year two pupils in Year 6 of each Junior and Primary school across the borough become Junior Road Safety Officers (JRSOs). JRSOs help to promote road safety to their fellow pupils by way of distributing newsletters and posters, and running assemblies and competitions with the support of the Council's Road Safety and Travel Awareness Unit.
This scheme has been running in Kingston for approximately 10 years, and was adopted by Transport for London (TfL) in 2005 and rolled out to schools in all 33 London Boroughs.
