Road accidents are the single biggest cause of accidental death among 5–14 year olds.
Below is some information about websites that can help children to learn more about road safety.
'Safe on the Street' is an interactive website resource covering road safety issues to educate primary school children at school and home. It is part of the BMW Education Programme and is available at from their website, linked at the bottom of the page. The resource is aimed at seven to eleven year olds and provides road safety education in a novel, interactive, and fun way whilst helping to develop relevant Information and Communication Technology skills.
The global technology company 3M has created this Road Safety Education Programme, called 3M Streetwise, for Key Stage 2 pupils. The programme has been produced by teachers in association with the Department for Transport and the road safety charity, Brake.
