2006 Casualty Report
Greater London (Jan - Jun) 2006
In Greater London in the first 6 months, January to June, 2006 there were 11,769 road traffic collisions reported to the police. This is a 10% decrease on the same period in 2005.Following these incidents there were 14,084 casualties, 103 were fatal; 1,826 people received serious injury and 12,155 received slight injuries.
Kingston upon Thames (Jan - Jun) 2006
In our borough for this 6 month period there were 225 casualties, this is an increase of 0.4% compared to the same period for 2005. One person was killed, 31 seriously injured and 193 people received slight injuries.
Pedestrians casualties
In the first six months of 2006 there were 32 pedestrian casualties. Of these there were no fatalities, 9 serious injuries and 23 slight injuries.

Pedal Cyclist casualties
There were 26 casualties, a increase of 7 from 2005, this could respresent an increase in cyclists in the borough. Of these there was one fatalities, 4 serious injuries and 15 slight injuries.

There was a decrease in casualties from 41 to 29 compared to the same period in 2005, with no fatalities, 7 serious injuries and 22 slight injuries.

Car occupant casualties
There was a decrease in 2006 from 116 to 114, compared to the same period of 2005, of these there were no fatalities, 10 people seriously injured and 104 slightly injured.
