Suspensions

If you require a parking place to be suspended for building works, road works or loading and unloading you will need to apply to the Parking Shop. An application form and explanatory notes for a parking suspension is available for downloading via the link below. A minimum notice period is required to allow us to place warning signs within the parking place. Please see the application form for details.

• Controlled Parking Zones A/A1 (Kingston Town Centre area) - £25 per bay, per day. (A discount is offered to residents of this zone, please see the application form for details of the discount and how to demonstrate eligibility.)
• Controlled Parking Zones B/C/G/G1/H/N/R/S/T/V - £15 per bay, per day

Dispensation or Waivers

If you need to park for longer than the maximum permitted stay you may apply for a dispensation. A dispensation or waiver is a consent form which must be displayed on a vehicle’s windscreen. It permits a vehicle to wait on a yellow line or parking bay while it is in use in an agreed way. Examples requiring dispensations are:

• continuous loading or unloading of bulky goods
  (which takes longer than the time usually permitted on a yellow line); or
• continuous use of the vehicle as a workshop,
  e.g. using machinery or plant from the vehicle which requires direct access to premises.

One week’s notice is advised and details of the vehicle will be required before the dispensation can be issued. A dispensation will only be issued if there is no other reasonable alternative, (e.g. pay & display area or nearby car park) and only if the vehicle is necessary to carry out the work and not parked for convenience.

Dispensations will not normally be granted where there are loading restrictions or in clearways. An application form and explanatory notes for a parking dispensation is available for downloading via the link below.

• All Controlled Parking Zones - £10 per vehicle, per week (to extend the maximum stay period in a parking bay)
• Controlled Parking Zones A/A1 (Kingston Town Centre area)- £30 per vehicle, per day. (A discount is offered to residents of this zone, please see the application form for details of the discount and how to demonstrate eligibility.)
• Controlled Parking Zones B/C/G/G1/H/N/R/S/T/V - £20 per vehicle, per day .
